Family Home Evening

You all know how it is, Family Home Evening lasts all of 1 minute. Then each child is sidetracked, by the matchbox car on the carpet, the scab on their arm, the incredible carpet fibers or their little brother who instantly becomes the star of the show.

We were attempting a lesson on tithing from the General Conference Talks. The following video is the majority of our FHE. After that it was me asking the kids to sit down, sit down, be quiet, listen to dad, put your hands on your knees, what did dad just say? I am sure I am not the only one that has lived through such productive FHE's.

But, the kids had a wonderful time playing Ring Around the Rosies and Head Shoulders Knees and Toes. I think they even learned something about where 1/10th of our money and where it goes.

What the Jimmy!

Sunday we had this hail/snow/rain storm. I don't get it. Thus "What the Jimmy!" But, I am just glad there is not any wind. That is where it gets old.

The kids had fun throwing on their boots and playing in this 'storm'. This morning (monday), it is all still there in it's perfect little shapes on the grass.

Tanner saved some for us to examine later.

Savannah's Primary Talk

Savannah gave a primary talk today about Following the Prophet

(about 1/2-3/4 of the talk is in her words)

What does it mean to follow the prophet?

To follow where he goes, it means you should choose the right. That means when your mom says go to bed, you do it.

President Hinckley was our prophet, he died. He went to live with Heavenly Father because he did good things. Like he read the scriptures. He went to church each sunday and he gave talks. He was nice to everyone.

Living prophets are here on the earth and we are taught by them. Our new prophet is Pres. Thomas S. Monson.

D&C 21:5 "For his word ye shall receive as if from mine own mouth". Pres. Monson can help us to know what Heavenly Father wants us to do.

If we follow the great example of our prophets, we can choose the right and live with our Heavenly Father again.

Me and My Shadow

Savannah and Corbin have been little buddies

lately. Corbie follows her around and repeats every

word Savannah uses: "no, I don't want to, ok, see ya ect.

I love watching them in their little world.

Savannah feels free to use her big sister status to her advantage. Corbie has no idea he is doing the grunt work, except for his grunts between his smiling and laughing.

The 'hat' Corbie has on is a little ball net type thing, he wears it around the house with pride!

Savannah and Corbie are practicing for their debut in Pairs Figure Skating.

April Fools

We had a fun day. The kids had Savannah's fake eggs and toast from her kitchen downstairs. They laughed and laughed when I told them "April Fools", they caught on quickly!

Savannah and I made Nathan his sandwich for lunch and Savannah said she thinks we need to add some Karo Syrup to his sandwich. So, we did.

he went to get a drink and we had put all the plastic balls of every sort in the glass cupboard so when he opened it, they fell all over him. Savannah got such a kick out of it!

For dinner we had baked potatoes and I wrapped some other suprises in tin foil that the kids opened. They thought that was so funny!

Nathan had put thread through his shirt pocket and left a tail of it coming through so it looked like some loose thread on the seam. Tanner pulled and pulled on it.

This morning, I woke up to the toliet seat siran wrapped. I will not go into detail.

90 Day Dare, Done

Well, it has happened! We made it! 90 long days (well, really it was like 40 LONG days the rest were no problem), of no sugar.

I will tell you what, it has definitely helped me. My long term goal in all this is the self-discipline. I did that, now, can i have a plate of cookies on the counter and only eat one? That is the big next step for me.

Mandy (friend), knocked on my door last night and brought over these for the big event. It was my official break the sugar famine. Now, that I cannot think straight and my heart is racing,....

Nathan has already been to Cold Stone Creamery (his weakness) two times.

The other taste of sugar I had was a small taste of ice cream cake that MJ (neighbor) gave to us a week ago.

My heart is racing and I need to take a rest from the buzz!

Got Milk?

Corbin does not, cannot stand, bread. Refuses it with eyes shut and a big "nooo". But, he does enjoy peanut butter and honey. Here is a video that makes the majority of us exclaim "Got Milk!"

Now that you all need a drink of milk, doesn't he make it seem tempting?

The bumps and bruises he has on his head and eye are looking a lot better. He has crashed and fell so many times. Now, he falls and just lays there flat like a sprawled out dead man.
