Memorial Day

We went to Clifton for Memorial Day. It is absolutely beautiful there. Very lush and green. Nathan said it reminded him of Ireland. I loved it! We left Sunday right after church and enjoyed a meal with my parents. It was rainy and overcast and quite breathtaking.
We helped Grandpa move the pipe on the park lawn (didn't need watering, but he had water so went for it). We sat out on the porch and watched the rain and clouds come down the mountain.

Tanner got to meet his 2nd cousin, Gideon they hit it off quick.

We then met at the Clifton Cemetery and heard many wonderful stories about my Grandparents and Great Grandparents.
We had a lot of cousins there. I loved seeing everyone!



We heard a lot of stories about my Great Grandmother Melissa Pratt Sant, whom I was named after. She is a grand-daughter of Parley P. Pratt. I loved my Memorial Day! (Oh, my pants are rolled up because the sun came out and I was baking!).
The Lilac Bush behind the grave was planted by my Grandma after her mother died. Our ancestors date back to England are in this cemetery.

Baby Blessing

We had Brycen's Baby Blessing the beginning of this month. Nathan was out of town until Thursday of that week, so my planning, cleaning and prepping was me, myself and I. I must admit, he hauled all the mulch in the wheel barrow then I spread it out. That was a big help. We planted who knows how many flowers. I love flowers and being outside.
The other great thing about that week was that my kids had a horrible cough. Not one you can say "oh, they have a cough", this was one where you had to tell people, "my kids have a really bad cough, so stay away!". I was really worried about Brycen getting it, he did. So, then I worried about him having to go to the hospital cause he was only 6 weeks. He did not. Whew! What a fun week that was! (yes, I dissentfected the house many many times!)
By Saturday, the kids were pretty much healthy, occasional cough. Brycen was in it still. We were still going forward. Sunday, Brycen's cough sounded like an old man, but, he was a star! He was awake for when family showed up before church. Then slept all through church, excpet to be fed. Came home and slept all through dinner! He did GREAT!

We had fun, but I think Corbin and his cousin Mac-a-doo had a blast! You cannot see it, but they are both holding a train, gotta have those trains!





They pushed those trains on that table making all sorts of fun sounds all through dinner. Good thing Grandpa was right by them, cause he sure gave a lot of glares! Loved it! They were conjuring up big plans.

The girls sat at the princess table. They would get off and crawl up to the big people (Grandpa) and scare him. Then they would run away giggleing thinking they got him big time!





so, of course, just like old time sake (cousins) Janie and I (Mother of Mac-a-doo and Carter) had to begin rigging. And we succeeded! She stayed for 2 more days and then she and I met her husband in Snowville. It was great! I love sisters and we got to play the game called Sissa's again! As you see, she is playing the mommy. Brycen is really searching for food, he is hungry!

Little Birdies

This is our old bbq, we were just about ready to take it curbside when we noticed some grass and straw hanging out the lid. We opened it up and found these cute little birdies.





















They were 5 cute little blue eggs. Corbin immediately asked if we could eat the "robin eggs". He is like me, I LOVE Robin Eggs. We had to break it to them, these were not candy, they are real! They hatched and look how sweet and "cute" they are!



We can hear them chirping inside the bbq. When we go outside our back door, the mother bird flies out through the side holes of the bbq.

Tanner asks if we can bbq some birds I tell him to ZIP IT!

Other Kid-isms
Corbin has been asking me for a James Thomas the Train. Today he asked about it again. I told him maybe he could ask James for his Birthday. Corbin came back with "Mom, I can't ask James, he cannot talk".

Savannah lost her first tooth today. She was debating whether her teacher should pull it in Kindergarten or have me pull it at home. She told me I can go ahead and pull it and Mrs. Anderson can pull the next one in Kindergarten . I pulled it and I smiled at her and showed her the tooth, she looked back at me and the water began to swell up in her eyes. Then it spilled over, "mom, I don't want my tooth out"...."I miss my tooth already"..."Can we put it back in?"

Shoshone Falls

We ventured down to the Falls on Friday. They were definitely going strong. To Corbin it was a first that he can remember. He loved it!











Apparently cars were backed up for 1 hour and 1/2 to see the Falls, last weekend. The revenue it brought in for the City was $275,000, in just one weekend. Corbin would reach out and try to touch the water. Tanner tried to spit down to the water, but I am afraid it added mist to the people next to him...nice.

Brycen thought it was a little cold and not so fun, maybe it is because he cannot see with the hat over his eyes.









After dinner the kids went and hiked a little, I fed Brycen then they rolled down the hill over and over again. We came home and Tanner climbed in his bed and layed there like a dead man, sick to his stomach. Corbin kept saying "oh my belly" then I got the garbage can and he would pretend to spit in it, as if throwing up. They went to bed real quick that night. Kind of nice!

All are surviving!

It is amazing that we are trusted to care for little people here on earth! But, my little crew has officially made it to 6 weeks post baby! Sometimes they even smile-all 4 of them.
Here are a few pics of our baby (Corbin calls him Babe et). We have been calling him Brycie Boy.
Life with 4 turned a little hectic, so I pump a lot and the kids get to help feed him.

Savannah holding Brycen. She is so excited to have him as a roommate, as soon as he sleeps through the night. I am excited too!











Tanner has been a real big help! I have left him with the baby a few times while I run kids to and from. He loves it and loves feeding him. Tanner is growing up so fast!

Corbin call Brycen 'his baby'. He tries to give him toys, but has also been very gentle with him! I am so so glad! He is coming around and accepting the idea to a new dude taking his spot. Corbin smile is still so big and bright! His mark on his forehead was from pushing the trains on the carpet. He gets down on his head and knees so he is eye level with the Engines. He gave himself a rugburn. Brycen thinks he is pretty cool!











His cord finally came off at 6 weeks. Amazing, that thing would just not 'die' and fall off! So, he finally got his first tub bath, with it came a rainbow stream that Savannah and Corbin thought was hilarious, but they did not laugh when he exploded into the water as well.













Brycen at 6 weeks, freshly bathed and smelling very good! He loved his first bath. We think he is pretty awesome!

What I have learned...

We have almost survived 21 days!
What I have learned...
1. breastfeeding is like using 80 grit sandpaper on your chest over and over, reopening any wounds from the previous sanding session every 3 hours, 24 hours a day.
(I will let everyone know I am now to about 300 grit sandpaper and I am celebrating!)
2. babies have one powerful jaw, but once their jaws grip on and clench they zonk out and are snoozing every so peacefully for the next hour.
3. washcloths and squirt bottles do not wake up a baby who is newborn and jaundice.
4.right after feeding the hour long sanding session, baby is so good at waking up and alert!
5. babies have a powerful squirt on the back end and can reach your shirt and above!
6. baby boys have an amazing ability to squirt themselves in the eye.
7. If a mommy goes for a 1/2 block walk, she is paying for it for the next week with the 'overexertion'.
8. babies can be born healthy even after shooting through the birth canal, the cord wrapped twice around their little necks and when they put his sweet little cheesy body on you, he is purple!
9. being born from the above conditions we now get to look at really blood shot eyes for a month or two.
10. babies can be born with some serious wild hair and still be cuter then cute!
11. pumping with a machine pump vs. a hand pump really really speeds up the process. Nobody informed me of this for the past 7 years!
12. people that bring in food are angels! The food is always so so delicious!
13. Sisters are awesome and amazing.
14. cousins play well, most of the time, as long as they bring a certain Thomas Train with them.
15. It is literally OK to let the house go, for the most part.
16. Nathan is literally an awesome incredible husband and I could NOT have done the first week without him being home.
16. School is a good thing to have some quiet time.
17. mom's belly is still big, but now squishy!
18. the kids are very interested in mom's milk faucets
19. the chances of a hair do, none!
20. bedtime-a zoo!
21. i plan on never leaving the house!
22. One of the last things I have learned is that these little spirits are strong and so special and I am SO thankful he is here safe and sound and giving me more then 2 hours of sleep at a time.

little story
Chipped some enamel out of my tooth, I think from delivery as well as clamping down when it is time for a sand paper session with Brycen.
My appt. was at 8:30 am, powerful early for a newborn mom. I took Savannah, Corbin and Baby Brycen with me (tanner was at school). The following were the events that took place at the Dentist (who is my neighbor).
Brycen exploded his diaper 3x's in a row, 3 diff. diapers.
Corbin had to go to the bathroom
Fed Brycen sitting in the dentist chair while the Dentist worked on my tooth-he had to stand because the chair could not be tilted back because I was feeding Brycen. While the dentist was working, Corbin fell and was crying.
I asked the Dentist if I could finish feeding Brycen sitting in the chair, he said go ahead. Not two minutes laters, Corbin comes over, "I have to go poo-poo". So, post pone Brycen and off we go again to the bathroom.
Now, that was fun. What I learned, do not breastfeed or have kids. Your tooth will not chip.
